About Us

Instructors: Maureen Sullivan & Kathleen Fleming

Maureen and Kathleen are sisters, joined at the hip. They have always had a close bond since their early years cutting dahlias together with their Dad in England to working together now in Vancouver. The fun and enjoyment of working with each other sprung the idea of the flower school.

Maureen’s signature look is characterized as romantic, elegant, luxurious and abundant. Her passion for flowers sprouted when she received a plant from her Grandmother that grew into 30 years of the love of flowers.

As well as running one of the most prestigious Flower Shops, Thomas Hobbs Florist, Maureen has been featured in numerous magazines, newspapers and television programs. Her talent keeps her very active in the city doing major events, demonstrations and talks. The passion she has for the spirit of children has kept her involved with the Children's Hospital Charity for over 15 years. Maureen was fortunate during her career to have great mentors, helping her grow and build her knowledge in the field of floristry. This flower school arose out of her desire to share her passion and knowledge of flowers.

Kathleen’s career path took a different route developing her technical abilities. Moving to Vancouver 10 years ago and joining with Maureen at Thomas Hobbs Florist has melded her creative and technical sides. Kathleen brings a different dynamic to the floral duo. Her perfectionism and attention to detail are a perfect combination for the creation of her designs.
